Community Church Beliefs

Community Church Serving the League City, TX Area

We believe in God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Trinity is the entirety of God consisting of these three individual beings.

We believe there is one way for eternal salvation, which is through Christ alone. Christ was born of a virgin, died on the cross for all of our sins, rose on the third day and is seated at the right hand of God. We believe that He will return to receive His bride, the Body of Christ, to live and reign for eternity.

We believe salvation is a gift from God that we must accept. We are saved by grace through faith, not by our own deeds but only through the completeness of the sacrifice of Christ. We are predestined only in the sense that God is omniscient (all-knowing) and foreknew who would accept His gift of eternal salvation. Receiving God's forgiveness and eternal salvation is a choice we make.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, profitable for all teaching. We believe in authenticity, transparency and honesty when it comes to teaching the Word. We do not "carve out" and teach only the parts for which we may have a greater affinity toward, but teach the entire Word of God.

We believe the gifts of the Spirit are in operation today and empower believers to live victorious lives. We believe that everything should be done with excellence and in order. Our goal is to foster an environment where Christ is the focus. We believe Christians should have and example solid Biblical teaching.

We believe that Christians should participate in water baptism and in Holy Communion once becoming a believer. Baptism is an outward sign that the individual identifies their life with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Participation in the Lord's Supper should be done in remembrance of Christ, reflecting on His sacrifice for our salvation. Baptism and communion are only available to believers.

Jesus was given all authority in Heaven and on earth commanding us to make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey the commands of Christ. We believe we are to train, equip and release believers to go and make other disciples.
